We designed a Flash-based interface using a consistent menu, visuals from print catalogs and Flash-based opening pages for each of the sections.
The store locator is displayed through a map of Australia and New Zealand. Users click on a state or region to zoom in for the cities, and click on a city to get the list of stores. Data for the stores is extracted from a database.
The admin section was a special challenge. We developed an innovative solution: use the site design exactly as it and create an 'edit' version of the site. We provided admin icons on each page and section that could be modified. This has made the site administration very intuitive, and changes can be viewed immediately, exactly as they would look on the site.
The same logic was extended to the database-driven content - for changes to the shoe catalog or the store locator, we provided edit icons that would take the administrator to a text box or a modification form where the change could be made immediately.
